The Night That Almost Didn't Happen

So God decided to be a dick yesterday. I knew the concert was coming up for a long time, and i didn't get the tickets upfront for a variety of reasons; first everyone kept saying they wanted to go, but i know my friends better than that, so i waited. then it looked like it'd be me and a few others, and then finally just me and steph. we got into arguments and so i put it off again because i didn't want to spend money on two tickets then wind up not going.

so then we have everything patched up, then monday when i was gonna buy them some more drama (from an entirely unrelated source) hit me, and icouldn't get them.

so we're at the day of the concert. me, tess, darrel, casey, and meghan get our free dennys. we go to kroger to see their ticket master..... except its not there anymore. it hasn't been there for a few years now. oops.

we go back, go to order them online. nope, can't buy tickets a few hours before the show.

see a bulletin on myspace that my friend has two tickets for sale.

he sold one of them.

call the venue, desperate, they have about 650 tickets left. travel to venue in hopes of getting tickets.

finally succeed.

Trivium comes on. They're a decent band, but i didn't think they were that great live. I have to admit though, they have to be nerds, because in between Trivium and Coheed "One Winged Angel" from Final Fantasy VII was played.

Coheed comes on...

They open with "welcome home," and it was fucking epic. Anyhoo, their setlist:

1. Welcome Home

2. The Velorium Camper III: Al The Killer

3. Gravemakers & Gunslingers

4. No World For Tomorrow

5. The End Complete III: The End Complete

6. In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3

I'm kinda surprised by #5, but I knew they'd probably start with "welcome home" and end with "in keeping secrets" I really wanted to hear "A Favor House Atlantic" and "Delirium Trigger" but they were still fucking amazing.

I'm not a huge fan of Slipknot but I'll admit they put on a hell of a show. Or maybe it was just the company I had with me, hehe.

Get back to Franklin, get steak & shake, pass out. I was 30 cents shy of dropping 100$ last night, and it was worth every penny =D

... i can't keep spending like that though, my hours at work went from 21 a week to 9. =O right when i was thinking of getting a new lappy too... errg.
