As opposed to the title, "Well, Fuck." which autofill tells me I've already used. Ugh.
So the past few weeks have been a little hectic, running around and everything. Waaaaay back on the weekend of the fourth I remember trolling Theo a bit by posting a status saying we were on the East Coast and ate at Five Guys and it sucked. Heheheh. Really we just went disturbingly close to Ben Davis to try eating Panera; it was closed so we tried Five Guys. Which sucks. Something fierce. Like, the worst restaurant I've ever ate at. Anyways, my brain forgot to list that on my post dealing with all things 4th of July.
We've been talking with Theo the past few weeks about him rooming with us in a two bedroom, but as of now he has to appeal to try and break his housing contract; that's looking pretty bleak, so we're back at square one. I'm waiting to hear from him on how long it'll take to get a response back from Franklin; depending on how long it is, we're going to go fill out apps at another place and hope for the best.
I'm still worried as shit about this. Money is going to be tight, no matter how you look at it. Like, worried enough that I'm starting to feel a little hopelessness slipping back in. *sigh*
I've been reading a ton more lately. I finished the Millenium Trilogy, obviously did Left Behind review, and now I'm on to another trilogy that I borrowed from a friend. I'm about 100 pages into the second book of the Hunger Games Trilogy as I write this, and the first book is really good, but it's kinda like the author watched "Battle Royale" and thought they could do it better. Really, it's pretty similar. Still a very entertaining read, though. She does a believable job of at least showing readers how the couple of the love thread could at least conceivably start falling in love, as opposed to a ton of other books just tossing their characters into a situation where they're suddenly like, "FUCK, SUDDENLY I LOVE YOU," "OH BABY I LOVE YOU TOO."
So there's that going for it.
I only got to see Macy for a handful of hours. Uggh. I drove up there Sunday after work (getting off at 10:00 P.M. mind you) and she worked all day the next day, and I had to work Tuesday morning at 8. Sleep Sunday, start reading Hunger Games on Monday morning, get a call from Macy after I'm about 60 pages in. "Hey, don't freak out, but I'm going to the hospital." Uhhhhh. Yes, yes I will.
She had another wicked nosebleed that just wouldn't stop, so I throw on clothes and get the fuck outta there in a heartbeat, towards a hospital I don't know the location of. Of course, by the time I get there 20 minutes later, she's stopped and is fine. Still, worrisome. I don't know why, particularly; I guess ever since Josi freaked out when Macy had a nosebleed back when we visited in October, that kinda rubbed off on me, knowing her medical history and whatnot.
"...If you wanted to get out of work early, I'm sure you could've done something a lot less drastic," I finally say when we meet up.
We were gonna go see the final Harry Potter movie but just relaxed instead, fearing another harsh bleeding.
At one point her dad does ask me if I'm circumcised and I burst out laughing, then he says, "no don't tell me, let me wonder." *pause* "She'll tell me though," nodding to Macy. whoa now. Then later he puts on this knit hat Macy'd been making, called it a "cancer patient hat," and then started beatboxing. It was awesome.
And then I have to go home. My work schedule is based purely on spite, because I have today off. So a Monday/Wednesday split, when I normally get 2 days in a row off, all because I tried to change my availability. This comes up in a couple weeks again before it finally changed. I fear I'll get fired because of how long it takes them to change shit, and when school coming up, there's simply no way in hell I'll be able to work certain times.
And speaking of school I'm still not 100% certain what's going on there; I've payed off half of what I owe, can pay off the other half, but am kinda dodging it until I know what I owe the Fraternity (I can't register til I pay them off), and because EVERY FUCKING TIME I ASK DARREL I NEVER GET A GODDAMN ANSWER AND ITS BEEN THAT WAY SINCE MAY.
And I don't know my financial aid yet either, so maybe it's all moot and I'll have to go back in the spring. Ugghhhhh.
I don't know why exactly, but Elliott Smith's "Between the Bars" has become a huge obsession for me lately (along with a variety of covers, specifcally Agnes Obel's.); so have a few other bands I've picked up in the past, most notably Bright Eyes. Sometimes Band of Horses (at least, their song "The Funeral"). But i don't really know why.
I've had a really ballsy mouse in my room; I can't even remember how many the cat has caught the past few months but it's at least 3 in my general area (others in the house elsewhere). This one was up on my dresser and later popped out of it again as I tried to move something around it. Damn cat won't do anything for this one; I saw it run out from under the bed earlier but the cat didn't do a thing. I wouldn't really mind about the mouse; I actually think they're kinda cute, except for the diseases and whatnot they could carry.
I need to start writing more.
